Health and safety
TrainingDeck works out loads from the numbers you enter. It doesn't know your health, your injuries, your technique or how you feel on the day, so it can't tell you whether a session is safe for you.
- Lifting weights can cause serious injury, and the Max Test, a 1-rep max attempt, carries the most risk.
- Check with a doctor before you start a new training program, especially if you have an injury or a health condition, you're pregnant, or you haven't trained in a while.
- If you're under 18, train with a qualified coach.
- Warm up properly, use good technique, and use the safety equipment your lift needs, like safety bars, a spotter or bumper plates.
- The loads are a guide, not targets you have to hit. Lower the weight, skip a session or stop whenever something doesn't feel right. Stop straight away if you feel sharp pain, chest pain, dizziness or shortness of breath.
- TrainingDeck isn't medical advice. It doesn't replace a doctor, a physiotherapist or a qualified coach.
- TrainingDeck is provided as is, without any guarantee. Check the numbers before you lift, because they could contain mistakes.
You choose what you lift, and you lift at your own risk. By using TrainingDeck, you accept this. To the fullest extent the law allows, Declan Cross, who makes TrainingDeck, isn't liable for any injury, loss or damage that comes from using it or following its programs.
